Here’s some progress on a print I’m doing for Emerald City. I’m very much looking forward to coffee times in the Pacific Northwest! This print will also be available online, why not.

It’s true that Octopus Pie is ending. There are 2 chapters left (after the current one, which is almost over). They will both be fairly dense, as there is a large cast to cover, some ends to tie up. I’m not sure exactly the length, but my rough estimate from today is about 6 months.
It’s a webcomic, so who can say I won’t get a wild hair and stretch things out. But OP’s 10th anniversary is May 14th, 2017; I’ve promised myself it will run no longer than that.
Thanks for asking - I’ve been wanting an opportunity to clarify! I’ve seen a lot of people eulogizing already, but I’ve got lots planned, and it’s going to be fun. You’ll love it.
And after that: QUESTION MARKS!

Hey! Did you catch the Octopus Pie story I posted back in April? Well, now there’s a full-color version available in print! With interior colors by Valerie Halla. I’m doing a small run of these, and they will all be signed. Snag yours here.
Octopus Pie premiered this week 5 years ago, in 2007. To celebrate, here are some weird old drawings of the characters before I had a series in mind for them. Most of these were done around 2006, but some were drawn earlier when I was in college.
Do check out the B9 Kingdom Kickstarter! I’m doing an exclusive Octopus Pie sketchbook for their new art book set, which you can get when you help fund the print run.
If you’re a fan of OP you’ll get a lot of neat sketchbook and B-side art in mine! Plus art books from Dustin Harbin, Becky Dreistadt, and Evan Dahm, which are sure to be terrific.
MoCCA this weekend, NYC people! See you there!

Good evening! I’m fresh back from TCAF, so here’s a new comic.
Did you know Octopus Pie celebrated its 10th birthday on Sunday? May 14, 2007 my babies. Whatta ride.
Print comin’ along. It just started pouring outside so I guess I won’t be headed to the print shop any time soon. :0
If you’re at San Diego Comic Con, come see me today between 2-4pm at the TopatoCo booth, #1229! I’ll be selling books and signing anything you’d like to bring. Mike Holmes will be there as well with books and prints! Hope to see you there!
This weekend I will be in Seattle for the show, and I hope to see you there! Here is all the info.
I will be exhibiting from Friday-Sunday, April 8-10, at Artist Alley table R2A, along with Mike Holmes. I’ll have the two new OP books, prints, original art, minicomics, as well as some Marceline trades & hardcovers. Mike and I will both be taking a small number of commissions at the show as well.
I won’t be at the show Thursday, unfortunately! If you look for me then, you will see air.
Sloane Leong has graciously invited me to be on 2 panels, which sound like they’ll be a real blast:
Shaping Space and Time in Comics (Sunday, April 10th, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM)
Brandon Graham, David Brothers, Morgan Jeske, Farel Dalrymple and Sloane Leong (and ME!!) talk about manipulating narrative time and space on the page through paneling styles, drawing styles, narration, staging and pacing.
Exploring Alternative Story Structure (Friday, April 8th, 2016, 5:15 - 6:15 PM)
Brandon Graham, David Brothers, Morgan Jeske and Sloane Leong (and ME!!) discuss alternative story structure, story theory, the legacy of Western storytelling, and how to expand beyond it.
In addition to regular signing at my own booth, you can also catch me at the Image booth:
Saturday, April 9th - 10:00-10:45 PM @ Image Comics Booth 316
