It’s pretty broad, I absorb a ton of new music via Pitchfork and NME and Christgau, etc. I think I probably dig deeper in punk rock than anywhere else. Lately I’ve been kind of obsessed with pop songs and I spend a lot of time riding my bike and analyzing why Ellie Goulding and Rye Rye are so perfect.
I mostly write for me but I’ve definitely become aware of a new and much younger audience these days. I really can’t say if they inform the writing at all, though it’s nice to know they are reading.
