Emerald City Comic Con 2013

Seattle and PNW bros! I’ll once again be at Emerald City Comic Con, happening this weekend, March 1-3!

I will be signing and partying at the TopatoCobooth #905/1002 (it’s a big island!). Here’s what I’ll have:

  • Just Be Cool Already minis
  • a brand NEW mini from the latest completed story
  • Listen At Home With Octopus Pie books
  • Marceline & the Scream Queens issues #1-6
  • a few prints
  • some original pages (e-mail me if you’d like to request a page)

Minis are only available at cons, and I make ‘em by hand, so get 'em and be happy.

Emerald City is one of my favorite conventions, especially of the larger shows. It’s a well-run show that accommodates both mainstream and indie publishers & creators very well. Everyone’s always in a great mood there. So I highly recommend checking it out if you’ve never been. Saturday passes are sold out but Friday + Sunday are still for sale.

This weekend I will be in Seattle for the show, and I hope to see you there! Here is all the info.

~*Artist Alley*~

I will be exhibiting from Friday-Sunday, April 8-10, at Artist Alley table R2A, along with Mike Holmes. I’ll have the two new OP books, prints, original art, minicomics, as well as some Marceline trades & hardcovers. Mike and I will both be taking a small number of commissions at the show as well.

I won’t be at the show Thursday, unfortunately! If you look for me then, you will see air.

I'm not sure if Asks are still open, but I heard that Octopus Pie would be ending sometime in the near future! Is this true, and how approximately how near of a future are we talking? I love the comic, and will miss it dearly.

It’s true that Octopus Pie is ending. There are 2 chapters left (after the current one, which is almost over). They will both be fairly dense, as there is a large cast to cover, some ends to tie up. I’m not sure exactly the length, but my rough estimate from today is about 6 months.

It’s a webcomic, so who can say I won’t get a wild hair and stretch things out. But OP’s 10th anniversary is May 14th, 2017; I’ve promised myself it will run no longer than that.

Thanks for asking - I’ve been wanting an opportunity to clarify! I’ve seen a lot of people eulogizing already, but I’ve got lots planned, and it’s going to be fun. You’ll love it.
