A few people asked about the end so I’ll answer this too. OP will be ending “in the next year” which is what I’ve been saying on Twitter for months lol. It’s winding down but I’m taking my time with it.

I don’t know what’s next!! I probably won’t do any more licensed comics unless I need the $$. Probably not a webcomic either? The dread of webcomic upkeep has been hanging over me for 8 straight years, and a break would be chill. It’ll be something I own and probably through some cool publisher, a variety of whom I’m making bedroom eyes at through the screen right now.

It’s a rainy day so this is something I’m trying. My home office (bedroom lol) is very small and I’m always looking for new ways to use space cleverly. I’ve also been dying to try the “standing workspace” since I hate swiveling around in my stupid chair.

I attached my monitor’s arm to the window since it wasn’t sitting very securely on the desk. There’s still a little bit of bounce from the cintiq and my temporary (but good!) solution is to put a plastic filing cabinet under it. I can also lean my elbows on the cabinet for further support.

When I want to ink/cut/draft on the table I can use the arm to push the cintiq outta the way (it hates that). so I think this will be pretty effective! But uh, don’t try it at home cuz it looks ridiculous.

I manage to keep drawing the comic because I enjoy the stories I’ve written. I think the characters are cute and fun to draw. I like when my stories come together. I like when an arc reaches an emotional or funny climax. I like the feeling of being satisfied with my pencils/inks, and looking at every detail of a finished page. For a few years I worried I wasn’t very good at comics, and that felt inhibiting, but now it doesn’t bother me. It makes me happy to draw my comics, and I think they are good.

I keep up because it’s pretty easy to nudge yourself to set a schedule and keep up with something that makes you happy. I think when people constantly have trouble keeping up it’s because they either expect too much of themselves, or they’d rather be doing something else.

Is it mean to say this ask is cute? haha. Sorry you miss Eve. Right now I have a bit more to say with other characters or with the whole cast as an ensemble. She’ll be back in the next arc with plenty of problems.
