I'm not sure if Asks are still open, but I heard that Octopus Pie would be ending sometime in the near future! Is this true, and how approximately how near of a future are we talking? I love the comic, and will miss it dearly.

It’s true that Octopus Pie is ending. There are 2 chapters left (after the current one, which is almost over). They will both be fairly dense, as there is a large cast to cover, some ends to tie up. I’m not sure exactly the length, but my rough estimate from today is about 6 months.

It’s a webcomic, so who can say I won’t get a wild hair and stretch things out. But OP’s 10th anniversary is May 14th, 2017; I’ve promised myself it will run no longer than that.

Thanks for asking - I’ve been wanting an opportunity to clarify! I’ve seen a lot of people eulogizing already, but I’ve got lots planned, and it’s going to be fun. You’ll love it.

You've said before that you're steering OP to its eventual end. Do you plan to start up another webcomic or are you going to stick with doing stuff like Marceline? Or some third answer??

A few people asked about the end so I’ll answer this too. OP will be ending “in the next year” which is what I’ve been saying on Twitter for months lol. It’s winding down but I’m taking my time with it.

I don’t know what’s next!! I probably won’t do any more licensed comics unless I need the $$. Probably not a webcomic either? The dread of webcomic upkeep has been hanging over me for 8 straight years, and a break would be chill. It’ll be something I own and probably through some cool publisher, a variety of whom I’m making bedroom eyes at through the screen right now.
